Gemini
Gemini's edge is two things: a 1M-token context window that swallows entire codebases or hour-long videos, and the native Google Workspace tie-in so it can read and write across Gmail, Docs, Drive, and Calendar. The 2.5 Pro model is genuinely competitive on reasoning; the 2.5 Flash variant is the cheap workhorse for high-volume jobs. If your company already lives in Google Workspace, Gemini removes friction the others can't match.

What it's good for
- 1
Summarising long meetings or a week of emails directly inside Gmail / Meet
- 2
Analysing video — drop a 60-minute recording in and ask "where did we discuss pricing"
- 3
Codebase-scale analysis: paste 500K tokens of source and ask architectural questions
- 4
Drafting docs and slides inside Google Docs / Slides without copy-paste
- 5
Multimodal pipelines via the Gemini API where you need video + image + text in a single call
How to use it
For Workspace-heavy teams, turn on Gemini in Gmail/Docs and let it draft replies, summarise threads, and pull info across files in your Drive. For long-context work, paste or upload the full source — Gemini's 1M window means you rarely need to chunk. The free tier of gemini.google.com is now a reasonable daily driver; AI Studio (aistudio.google.com) is where you go to test API prompts before wiring it into production.
