Ideogram
Ideogram is the model we reach for whenever an image needs legible text — posters, mockups, ads, product packaging, social tiles with copy. Other models still mangle anything beyond a few words; Ideogram renders sentences cleanly. Aesthetic quality has caught up to be competitive with Midjourney for many subjects, though Midjourney still wins on stylised editorial illustration. The free tier is generous enough for occasional work.

What it's good for
- 1
Poster and ad mockups with real headline text rendered correctly
- 2
Product packaging concepts that need brand name and copy on the design
- 3
Social-media graphics where the prompt includes a quote or short tagline
- 4
Logo exploration — generate twenty variants on a brand name before commissioning a designer
- 5
Typography-heavy editorial illustrations where text is the subject, not an afterthought
How to use it
Write the prompt with the desired text in quotes — Ideogram treats quoted strings as the literal text to render. Pick a style preset (3D, anime, photo, design) and a colour palette to keep a campaign consistent. The Magic Prompt feature expands a short prompt into a more detailed one if you're struggling for variety. For commercial work, stay on a paid plan to lock in licensing and remove the public-feed default.
