About the Project

The Challenge & Solution

The situation

All Shades of Painting is a family-owned shop in Meridian, Idaho. Jake Ortiz has run it since 2014, his crew has been with him for years, and with 28-plus years of painting experience behind him he has never paid for an ad. Every job comes off a referral. That is a good problem to have, right up until someone hears the name, types it into Google, and lands on a site that does not match the quality of the work. The old web presence undersold a shop that handles interior repaints, full exteriors built for Idaho weather, new-construction production runs, commercial jobs, epoxy floors, and sprayed cabinet refinishing.

The brief was to give a referral-driven business a website that closes the people referrals send, and starts earning the search traffic the shop never had to chase before.

The brief

A WordPress site the owner can keep current without a developer, fast on a phone (most of these visitors are homeowners checking the shop from the driveway), and structured so each service and each Treasure Valley town can rank on its own. It had to read the way the crew sounds: honest, specific, no hard sell. One line on the site captures the whole brand. If you need something we do not do, we will tell you on the first call.

What we built

A custom WordPress build, no bloated page-builder theme. Each of the six services gets its own page (residential, exterior, new construction, commercial, epoxy floor coatings, cabinet refinishing) so a search for "garage epoxy Meridian" or "cabinet refinishing Eagle" has a real page to land on. Service-area content covers the towns the crew actually drives to: Boise, Eagle, Nampa, Caldwell, Kuna, Star, Garden City, and Middleton.

Local SEO was wired in from the structure up. The site ships full LocalBusiness and PaintingContractor schema, per-service offer markup, clean metadata on every page, and a quote path that keeps the phone number and a free-quote form in front of the visitor at every scroll depth. The credibility the shop earns in person (twelve years building for Riverwood Homes, a written warranty Jake stands behind, a crew that stays) now lives on the page instead of only in word of mouth.

Outcomes

The shop finally has a site that matches the work. A referral who looks it up sees recent work, a clear process, and one obvious next step. The per-service and per-town structure gives Google something to index for the searches that actually convert, so the business can start picking up work from outside its referral network for the first time. The owner can update content himself, and the quote form routes straight to the shop.

What we'd evolve

The recent-work section can grow into before-and-after pairs that sell the cabinet and epoxy work especially, refreshed as each job wraps. A set of dedicated town landing pages (one per Treasure Valley city) would deepen the local footprint past the service-page layer. Both are queued for a future pass.

I would highly recommend Jake and his crew. I especially like that All Shades of Painting is family owned and local vs franchise. Everyone was courteous and professional. My house looks great. Jake went out of his way to connect with me and kept me informed on progress.
