US Maps

Most interactive map plugins are heavy: they pull in a mapping library, web fonts, and external requests, and they rarely care about accessibility. MaxtDesign US Maps is the opposite. It renders clickable US maps as inline SVG with one small deferred script, no jQuery, no web fonts, and no external requests at all.

You get two maps out of the box: US States (50 plus DC) and US Federal Regions (10). Customize every area: up, hover, and active colors, a link and target, tooltip content, and enable or disable. Set site-wide colors once and every map inherits them, so a single change restyles your whole site. Hover and active states are pure CSS, so the map is correct on first paint with no JavaScript.

It is accessible by design: areas are keyboard operable, labeled for screen readers, and there is a no-JavaScript link fallback, with WCAG AA in mind throughout. Insert a map with the MaxtDesign Map block or the [md_usmaps] shortcode, and build as many maps as you want.

Moving from an older plugin? US Maps imports your existing US Map and US Regional Map data automatically on activation, once, keeping your colors, links, and tooltip content intact and leaving the old data untouched.
