Two bundled maps
Accessible by design
Areas are keyboard focusable and operable (Enter or Space to activate), labelled for screen readers, and the map carries a no-JavaScript link fallback so it still works and navigates without scripts. Tooltips are dismissible, hoverable, and persistent, and the Great Lakes and name labels are marked decorative so assistive tech is not cluttered.
Near-zero front-end footprint
The map is inline SVG with one small deferred script. No jQuery, no web fonts, no map tiles, no external API, and no requests to anyone. Hover and active states are pure CSS, so the map is correct on the first paint with no JavaScript. The script loads only on pages that actually show a map.
One-click legacy import
When you activate the plugin on a site that still has the old US Map or US Regional Map data, it creates a map for each and imports it once, keeping your colours, links, and tooltip content. Your old data is left untouched, and you can re-run the import any time from a map's Tools panel.
