Site-wide colors

Go to US Maps → Settings to set the colors every map inherits: area fill (up), hover (over), active (down), border, area names, names hover, and lakes. Change a color here and every map that has not overridden it updates instantly, so you can restyle your whole site in one place.

Per-area customization

In the map editor, click an area to open its panel:

  • Colors: override the up / hover / active color for just that area. Leave them empty to inherit the site-wide palette.
  • Link: a URL plus a target (same tab, new tab, or no link / tooltip only)
  • Tooltip: rich content shown on hover and focus
  • Enabled: turn an area off so it is not interactive
  • Only areas you actually change are "baked in". Everything else follows the global palette, so global changes keep flowing through.

    Block options

The MaxtDesign Map block has settings for:

  • Map: which map to display
  • Width: default, large, extra large, or full width
  • Area list: a searchable list panel (off by default, with a toggle button so visitors can open it)
  • Zoom and pan: enable or disable
  • Shortcode options

    [md_usmaps id="123" width="full" list="no" zoom="yes"]
  • id (required): the map ID
  • width: full, a pixel number like 1000, or omit for default
  • list: yes or no (the list starts collapsed with a toggle button)
  • zoom: yes or no
